Frequently asked questions
My habits aren't resetting at midnight+

Open the app the next morning. The app recalculates all periods when you return from the background. If you see a habit still marked done the next day, close and reopen the app.

I lost my data after reinstalling+

Data is stored on-device only and is not backed up to iCloud or any cloud service. Use Settings → Export Backup regularly to save a copy you can restore from.

How do I restore a backup?+

In Settings, tap Import Backup and select your .json backup file. Your existing data will not be overwritten — the import only adds habits and logs that aren't already present.

The calendar won't let me pick previous months+

The monthly calendar is locked to the current month by design. You can log or remove any day within the current month.

Weekly habits — why can I only log once per day?+

Weekly habits allow one log per calendar day to prevent accidental double-counting. Each day you do it counts as one completion toward your weekly target.

Can I use Black Box on multiple devices?+

Yes, via manual backup. Export from one device, import on the other. There is no automatic sync.
