Black Box
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 June 2025
Black Box is a habit tracking app developed by ByteCraft Labs. This policy explains what data the app uses and how it is handled.
01
Data we collect
Black Box does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.
All information you enter in the app — habit names, completion logs, settings — is stored exclusively on your device using on-device storage (SQLite). This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the Export Backup feature.
02
Data we do not collect
We do not collect:
• Your name, email address, or any identifying information
• Location data
• Usage analytics or crash reports
• Advertising identifiers
03
Notifications
If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on-device. No notification content is transmitted to any server.
You can disable notifications at any time in the app's Settings screen or in your device's system settings.
04
Backup and restore
The Export Backup feature creates a JSON file containing your habits and logs. This file is shared directly from your device using your operating system's standard share sheet (e.g. AirDrop, email, Files app). ByteCraft Labs does not have access to this file at any point.
05
Third-party services
Black Box does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data services.
06
Data deletion
All app data is stored locally on your device. You can delete it at any time by deleting the app. No data exists anywhere else.
07
Children
Black Box does not knowingly collect data from children or anyone else. The app has no accounts and no network connectivity.
08
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
